Grey Objects Studio Project

Here are my finals from my Grey Object studio project at university. These final photographs show different angles, shots, depth of field, composition, framing and focusing techniques in which I used to produce the Grey Objects studio project.

Grey Objects Acorn
This photograph shows where I have focused in a wide shot of the pine cone which also has its shadow coming from it within the composed frame. By focusing and zooming this close it has brought out the crisp and sharp detail of the pine cone’s structure and other colours. It also stands out by the pine cone being framed in the centre.
Grey Object Box
For this photograph it was zoomed into to compose in frame a close up shot of the box which shows its detail and structure. My main focus point was the left hand side and my depth of field is shown within the same area.
Grey Object Combination
This photograph was composed to show parts of the objects in frame which would become my main focus point and show detail of my depth of field.
Grey Object Flower Box
For this final photograph submission of my Grey Objects project I decided that composing all of the flower bottle and box in frame would help them stand out.

Michelle Yates Photography & Media

Here you will find my Object Photography work from university which linked into a Englishness theme. For this I had the idea of linking mine with British history from different periods.

Here are my final Englishness photographs in which I decided to submit as my final four for the studio project. They show the different creative angles, compositions and shots I like to add to my work. These also show my depth of field and focusing techniques.
Here are my final Englishness photographs in which I decided to submit as my final four for the studio project. They show the different creative angles, compositions and shots I like to add to my work. These also show my depth of field and focusing techniques. The photograph shown above is of the abstract shot I had taken of the castle by focusing through one of the castle’s windows. The stairs and wall of the castle are in focus showing my point of focus and depth of field within the composed frame.
Hurricane Plane
Englishness Object Photography Studio Project. British history – Hurricane war plane composed and framed as close up mid shot, which helps to bring out the plane’s body colours and typography.
Englishness Tea
An abstract shot I composed by mainly focusing through a handle of a tea cup to bring into focus the spout of the first tea pot. This photograph links into my English Tea shoot for the Englishness project. My depth of field is captured within frame.
Steam Engine
A close wide shot of the steam engine and people I used to compose an industrial working scene to represent the UK’s industrial past and heritage. The photograph also links into my history approach to the Englishness Object Photography project. The reason why I have chosen this photograph is because of the angle in which I took the shot, as well as my focusing being noticeable with my depth of field.
